An Iowa City man has been arrested after allegedly forging insurance certificates to perform contracting work.

According to the criminal complaint, 52-year-old Daniel Lindberg of East Bloomington Street committed the forgeries on June 20th, 2018. He allegedly submitted certificates of insurance to gain employment and contracting work with SouthGate Companies. Lindberg reportedly forged the signature of an insurance agent on the documents and carried no insurance required by the contracts to complete the work.

A warrant was issued about a month later.

Lindberg was located and booked at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday afternoon. He’s been charged with two counts of Forgery and could be sentenced to up to four years in jail if convicted.
