A Des Moines man was arrested after an alleged assault on a University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics nurse.
The incident occurred February 13th at approximately 8:30pm. 31-year-old Jonathon Bushby was having a discussion with the nurse, when he asked if assaulting a nurse would get him discharged and taken to jail. He then punched the nurse in the chest with both fists, causing the nurse to feel pain and fear. He told police he was unaware that he was about to be the victim of an assault.
A warrant was issued for Bushby’s arrest; he was booked at the Johnson County Jail Friday afternoon. He’s charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a year’s jail sentence if convicted.
