An Iowa City man wanted on a weapons charge has been arrested after allegedly helping an 11-year-old exact revenge on a rival by having her shoot the other child with a water bead pistol.

20-year-old Dhyaaaldin Mohammad was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 4:15 Wednesday afternoon. Iowa City Police say Mohammed was driving his 11-year-old sister down the 600 block of South Lucas Street when they spotted another minor with which the sister had previous issues. Mohammed then allegedly handed his sister an Orbi Ball Blaster Pistol…which shoots water beads at high velocity, like paint balls…and told her to shoot the boy in retaliation for a fight the previous day. The boy fled as the girl fired, but Mohammed reportedly chased the child with his car before the boy was able to escape.

During the investigation, Iowa City Police determined that Mohammed was wanted for allegedly purchasing a shotgun at Scheels in Coralville for another person who is ineligible to possess firearms. Details of that case can be found in a previous KCJJ news story here.

Mohammad is now charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Providing False Information in Acquiring a Weapon. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of over five years in prison.

Mohammed lists home addresses on both South Lucas Street and Westwinds Drive.
