Allegedly vandalizing a water fountain at a University of Iowa residence hall has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man.

UI Police say 19-year-old Joseph Chiodo of The Quarters on Highway 6 East entered Currier Hall on Clinton Street with several friends just before 2am Saturday after a night of drinking. He allegedly kicked a water fountain, breaking it in two pieces and removing it from the wall. Damage is estimated at $1,150.

Chiodo provided a breath alcohol level of .173%. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 3:45am and charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
