North Liberty man arrested after allegedly assaulting mother of his child

A North Liberty man who allegedly assaulted the mother of their shared child has been taken into custody.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 4am on New Year’s Day at 26-year-old Terry Green’s West Penn Street residence. According to police, he slapped the woman across the face twice, dragged her down the stairs and throughout the house by her hair, and punched her repeatedly on the leg. Green also allegedly told the woman that he hated her and that she was lucky he didn’t re-arrange her face like he wanted to.

Police observed the injuries on the woman, including a bruise above her right eye, bruising on the left side of her face, a scratch on the right side of her face, and several bruises about her legs and arms.

The victim told officers that this wasn’t the first time Green had assaulted her, citing an incident from August 26th where he allegedly punched the woman, causing swelling and bruising to her eye.

Green was taken into custody Tuesday night and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd or subsequent and Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury for the August incident, with Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd or subsequent and Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury charges for the New Year’s Day incident. If convicted on all counts, Green could be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison.

A no-contact order was requested.
