An Iowa City woman wanted by police for allegedly skipping a court date on a drunk driving charge has been arrested after police say she crashed her car into a tree in another impaired driving incident

Iowa City Police were called to the intersection of Wayne Avenue and William Street just after midnight Saturday for a 2012 Chrysler 200LX that had left the road and hit a tree. The reporting party indicated airbags were deployed, but the driver was not injured.

Arriving officers identified 21-year-old Jocelyn Salinas of East Court Street as the driver. She reportedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking, and provided a breath alcohol level of .235%.

Salinas was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Driving While Revoked. The OWI charge is a first offense, although online court records show Salinas was charged with the same offense in August. She’s accused of skipping a November 7th court date in the case, leading to a warrant being issued for her arrest.
