State Department of Public Health figures say COVID cases went up by a slight two percent in the past week.
While acknowledging that actual figures are likely higher given the number of people self-testing with at-home kits and not reporting positive results, the DPH says 1863 new cases were reported, up from 1827 the week before.
Local figures were markedly higher. Johnson County went from 120 reported cases last week to 139, an increase of about 16 percent; Linn County jumped 29%, from 144 to 186.
22 more confirmed deaths were added to the state total since the pandemic began, bringing it to 10,229.
