A California man faces charges that he vandalized a Hills residence after a payment dispute.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Javier Buenrostro drove to the alleged victim’s Old Oak Ridge residence around 5:30 Tuesday night to confront the man about money he felt was owed for work Buenrostro had performed. When the victim failed to pay, Buenrostro allegedly spray-painted the security cameras and concrete. The cameras cost an estimated $2,000.

Johnson County deputies stopped Buenrostro as he was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 on Oak Crest Hill Road just before 6:30 Tuesday night. He allegedly showed signs of intoxication and had a breath alcohol level above the legal limit for driving.

Buenrostro, who lists his home address in Fontana, California, is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and Operating While Intoxicated.

If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.
