The man who fled Iowa after allegedly being involved in a fatal shooting at the Taboo Nightclub and Lounge in April has been brought back to the state to face charges.
29-year-old Dimione Walker was being held at the Stateville Prison in Joliet Illinois on a charge of trafficking stolen weapons in Illinois. Surveillance video from the club allegedly shows him fatally shooting 25-year-old Michael Valentine at point blank range.
Walker was arrested 8 days after the shootings in a Chicago suburb. The Gazette reports that Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks obtained a governor’s warrant to bring him back to Iowa to face charges of first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The other alleged shooter, 32-year-old Timothy Rush, is accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old girlfriend Nicole Owens that night; police say he “fired intentionally and indiscriminately,” with what they believe was a 9 mm handgun, into the large crowd at the club. He also fatally shot 31-year-old Marvin Cox. Cox initially survived the shooting but died in late July from his injuries. Ten people in total were shot that night.
Rush has a trial date of March 28th; Walker was formally charged Saturday during an initial appearance.
