Washington County man accused of drugging, sexually assaulting 16-year-old

A Washington County man is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old.

According to the Washington County Attorney’s Office, on December 29th of last year the Washington Police Department received a report of sexual abuse of a 16-year-old at the hands of 23-year-old Benjamin Scott. The child reported they were at Scott’s house when Scott provided the child with drugs. The child became intoxicated, and was then sexually assaulted by Scott. An analysis confirmed the presence of Scott’s DNA on the child.

Scott was indicted on Tuesday on charges of Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor within 1,000 Feet of a School, 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on all charges, Scott faces a maximum of 36 years in prison. The distribution charge carries a ten-year minimum sentence.
