Former manager of Riverside Casey’s receives deferred sentence on theft charge

A Wellman woman convicted of embezzling over $17,000 from her employer has been given a deferred judgement.

46-year-old Amy Frantz has also been placed on five years of probation on a 1st Degree Theft charge.

According to arrest records, loss prevention for Casey’s General Stores contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on November 18th of last year to report that Frantz, who at the time was the manager of the company’s Riverside location, had exercised control of stolen property totaling over $17,000.

Surveillance video shows Frantz leaving the store with a bank deposit bag, but she reportedly never made the deposit.

Frantz allegedly admitted to investigators on December 2nd that she stole money from the store over the span of three months.

Frantz had faced a maximum of ten years in prison.
