An Iowa City man faces burglary charges after allegedly breaking in to a man’s apartment to challenge him to a fight.
Police say that Friday night a little after 11:30, 28-year-old Chad Fairchild of the Town and Campus Apartments on Arthur Street reportedly got into an argument with a man, who went inside his residence to get away from Fairchild.
Fairchild then allegedly kicked in the man’s door while there were multiple people inside, and challenged the man to a fight.
Fairchild was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Burglary, a Class C Felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years.
Last June, Fairchild was sentenced to five days time served from a May 2019 incident when he reportedly started masturbating in front of a staff nurse and nurses monitoring him on video at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. After being banned from the facility, Fairchild violated the ban the next month and was charged with Trespassing. He was fined $200 for that incident.
