Iowa City Police use armored vehicles to serve warrant connected to recent shooting incidents

Iowa City Police deployed two armored vehicles to serve a warrant regarding recent shootings.

In a release from the Department, at approximately 7:45 a.m. Thursday the Iowa City Metro Special Response Team served the search warrant related to recent shooting incidents at 1019 Carver Street.

In order to protect both the public and responding officers, two armored vehicles were used to serve the warrant.

The warrant was served without incident and this is an on-going, active investigation. Police say no further information regarding potential criminal charges or items seized will be released at this time.
