An Iowa City man has been arrested after a search warrant at his mobile home turned up drugs and thousands in cash.

Police executed the search warrant on January 25th at the Breckenridge Estates Mobile Home Park residence of 40-year-old Miguel Paredes. Investigators reportedly located over 500 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana and mushrooms, digital scales, packaging materials, two cellphones, and over $5000 in cash.

Paredes allegedly admitted to being involved in the sale of narcotics, and allowing juveniles to use marijuana at his residence. The other narcotics were accessible to the juveniles as well.

Paredes was taken into custody on a warrant Wednesday afternoon. He’s been charged with a Class B controlled substance violation, failure to affix tax stamp, keeping or permitting drugs in his residence, and child endangerment. If convicted on all counts, Paredes faces up to 34 years in prison.
