Cedar Rapids Police have filed additional charges against one of two alleged suspects from the Taboo Nightclub shootings earlier this month.

The incident occurred around 1:30am April 10th.  investigators believe 32-year-old Timothy Rush and 29-year-old Dimione Jamal Walker fired more than a dozen shots inside the club. Officers were just outside because of an earlier incident where they arrested a man on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. While they were finishing the arrest, they saw a rush of people leaving the club and went inside. There, they found the victims, identified as 25-year-old Michael Valentine and 35-year-old Nicole Owens, both of Cedar Rapids.

It’s believed Rush and Walker ran out among the 100-150 who streamed out of the nightclub after the shooting.

Rush was arrested on April 11th and initially charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Reckless Use of a Firearm Causing Serious Injury, and Possession of a Firearm as a Felon.

As part of their ongoing investigation, police have additionally charged Rush with three counts of Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, three counts of Reckless Use of a Firearm Causing Bodily Injury, two counts of Willful Injury causing Serious Injury, and two counts of Reckless Use of a Firearm Causing Serious Injury.

The new charges are related to injuries sustained five of the ten victims wounded in the shooting. If convicted on all counts, Rush could be sentenced to over 100 years in prison.

Walker was initially charged with first degree murder and could face life in prison without parole if convicted. He’s being held in Illinois on separate charges after being arrested in the Chicagoland area on April 19th.
