A central Iowa man faces charges that he pulled a gun on Iowa City pedestrians during a Saturday morning road rage incident.
Iowa City Police say 21-year-old Segbedji Ahissou of Altoona stopped his car in front of the Hyatt Place Hotel on East Court Street just before 1am Saturday after he believed a couple walking behind him had struck his taillights. Ahissou allegedly exited the vehicle, pointed a Glock 43 at one person’s chest, then fled the scene.
Police located Ahissou a short distance away with the Glock in his waistband after a witness revealed his whereabouts. He allegedly admitted to being in an altercation, showed signs of impairment, and had urinated himself with his pants zipper down. A red Solo cup filled with alcohol was also allegedly found inside his vehicle.
Ahissou is charged with Going Armed With Intent, Intimidation With a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Weapon While Intoxicated and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of 11 years in prison.
