A Coralville man was taken into custody after allegedly threatening to come to an Iowa City residence to hurt the occupant, and attempting to take the person’s TV.

According to the criminal complaint, 24-year-old Christian Mbokolo of Kodiak Court accused the person of having belongings that didn’t belong to her. When she denied having any of Mbokolo’s items, he reportedly texted back to her that he was on his way to hurt her at her house.

Mbokolo allegedly arrived at the woman’s residence Sunday around 11:45 am, but she was not home at the time and had already called police. Officers arrived at the Catskill Court home and reportedly observed Mbokolo and another unidentified person walking out of the residence carrying a TV. They allegedly returned back into the home, then quickly exited without the TV.

The two were reportedly given clear commands to stop and sit on the ground, but Mbokolo and the other suspect allegedly ignored the commands. They fled in a black Ford and were stopped a short time later.

Mbokolo and the other suspect were taken into custody. Mbokolo was charged with 3rd degree Harassment and Interference with Official Acts, and could be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail if convicted on both counts.
