Johnson County sheriff’s deputies say a North Liberty man tested positive for multiple drugs after he blamed the devil for making him drive up-and-down a Tiffin street while filling it with trash.
29-year-old Zachary Fett of Twilight Drive was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 2pm Monday. According to arrest records, deputies were called to Hickory Court in Tiffin just after 7:15am on December 22nd for a person driving up-and-down the street throwing trash out of the window of his 2010 Ford Fusion. He allegedly told one person who confronted him that the devil had him and he didn’t want to hurt anyone.
Arriving officers say they saw trash spread all over two blocks of Hickory Court. Fett was allegedly uncooperative and making statements deputies referred to as “out of touch with reality”.
Fett was taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation. He later tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamines and marijuana.
Fett is charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense.
