Multiple departments responded to a structure fire south of Kalona Thursday night.
According to Washington County dispatchers, just after 8:45pm a caller reported a shed on fire on Highway 1 about halfway between Kalona and Washington. The caller added that the shed had several gas cans inside and there was a propane tank nearby.
Kalona, Wellman and Washington firefighters all responded. The fire was extinguished without incident. There were no reported serious injuries, although one person refused treatment at the scene.
