Iowa City Police have arrested two suspects who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a convenience store Tuesday.

The incident occurred at the Kum & Go on Mormon Trek Boulevard at approximately 4 pm. Arriving officers spoke with the victim, who informed them that while at the store, he was approached by 4-5 black males wearing masks. He stated that he was assaulted, and a subject displayed a firearm while they allegedly took his wallet.

Through their investigation, officers located two 18-year-olds, Rashawn Harris of Westminster Street, and Gary Jones of Bittersweet Court, along with 3 other co-defendants at an address nearby. All five suspects were identified by video footage, and the stolen wallet was reportedly located nearby. During interviews, it was learned that all five males allegedly participated in the assault of the victim.

A search of the address where the suspects were located reportedly turned up a loaded firearm and clothing that was worn during the robbery.

Harris and Jones were each charged with 1st Degree Robbery, a Class B Felony punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years if convicted.
