An Iowa City woman was taken into custody Wednesday night after police allegedly found a meth pipe lying on the head of her 4-year-old child.

According to arrest reports, 43-year-old Kimberly Wheeler was wanted on a warrant and was contacted at her Sandusky Drive home around 8 pm. When she was arrested, she reportedly said that she needed to grab some belongings from inside the residence before coming with police.

Officers walked inside with her and allegedly saw her 4-year-old child laying on a bed with a meth pipe resting on her head.  When questioned, Wheeler reportedly admitted that the pipe was hers, and that she had smoked earlier in the day. A search incident to arrest allegedly turned up a small quantity of marijuana.

Wheeler was taken into custody and charged with Child Endangerment, Marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to over three years in jail.
