Allegedly urinating outside a bodega has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest.
Iowa City Police were called to El Paso on Hollywood Boulevard just before 1:30 Monday afternoon for an intoxicated woman who would not pay and had urinated on some flowers. Arriving officers found the suspect…56-year-old Maricela Duarte de Garcia of Sandusky Drive…around the corner of the business. Police say she smelled strongly of alcohol and had urinated on her pants.
Duarte de Garcia reportedly agreed to pay the $20 she owed to El Paso. She was then arrested for Public Intoxication. Her breath alcohol level was measured at .231%.
Duarte de Garcia pleaded guilty on Tuesday and was fined $105.
