The city of North Liberty has updated its mask policy for city facilities.

According to a news release issued Saturday afternoon, masks are welcome and available, but not required, in city of North Liberty facilities.

City officials say the move is in line with updated public health guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Under the CDC’s new community risk classification, people in Johnson County are at medium risk of COVID-19. At that level, the CDC recommends those at higher risk for severe illness talk to their healthcare provider about what additional precautions they should take, and the public should stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations and get tested if they have symptoms.

Current county-by-county risk assessments are available from the CDC at cdc.gov.
