Armed Coralville man wanted on robbery charges arrested after early Sunday morning traffic stop on I-380

A Coralville man wanted on a robbery charge now faces weapons and drug charges after an early Sunday morning traffic stop on Interstate 380.

The Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center received a call just before 3:30am from a woman who said she was inside a car with an armed man who was scaring her. The vehicle in question was pulled over near the Swisher exit. Deputies say one of the passengers, identified as 20-year-old Devioin Sanders of 10th Street, was found in possession of a gun and marijuana. He was also wanted on 2nd Degree Robbery and Trafficking in Stolen Weapons charges.

Sanders now faces additional charges of Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons and Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
