Suspicious package outside Emma Goldman Clinic determined to be no threat

A suspicious package reported outside the Emma Goldman Clinic has been determined to be no threat.

A Hawkalert sent out by the University of Iowa just before 11:30 Friday morning indicated the package was discovered in the area of Dubuque and Market Streets two hours earlier. A call to Iowa City Police indicated the package was in front of the clinic on South Dubuque Street.

Iowa City Police closed portions of Dubuque, Market, Clinton and Bloomington Streets during the investigation. The package was determined to be harmless, and the all-clear was given just after 12:15pm.
