An early morning crash on Interstate 380 has led to a Washington County man’s arrest.

Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on I-380 southbound near the Iowa River Bridge just after 1am Sunday. Another motorist who was assisting the driver reported that the man appeared to be intoxicated.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Dylan Farmer of 219th Boulevard, allegedly admitted to driving home from a party in Waterloo and to having “four or five beers”. Police say Farmer showed signs of intoxication, performed poorly on field sobriety tests and registered a breath alcohol level of .140%.

Farmer was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
