Allegedly striking her daughter with a glass bottle has led to a North Liberty woman’s arrest.

North Liberty Police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a local gas station just after 9 o’clock Friday night. The caller was a 12-year-old girl who claimed her mother had thrown a glass bottle at her and struck her with a closed fist. Arriving officers say the girl was bleeding, holding her elbow, and had several cuts on her elbow and back that were bleeding through her clothes. Police say the girl told them she was scared to go home.

The girl’s mother, identified as 32-year-old Midora Slaughter of Penn Court, allegedly later admitted to hitting the girl with a closed fist and throwing a bottle at her. She was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, she faces a maximum of five years in prison.
