An Iowa City woman already wanted on a warrant for marijuana possession was arrested late Tuesday on OWI and additional possession charges.

Coralville Police initiated a traffic stop on 43-year-old Lashena Robinson of Southgate Avenue just before midnight near 9th Street and 21st Avenue Place for not having a front license plate. Upon contact, she allegedly had dilated pupils, bloodshot watery eyes, and the odor of ingested alcohol. Robinson reportedly admitted to using marijuana, methamphetamine and alcohol approximately five hours before she was stopped.

Chemical testing indicated drugs in her system, and Robinson also reportedly had five grams of meth on her person.  A K9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. A subsequent search allegedly found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, an open bottle of liquor, and three prescription drug pills in an umarked bottle.

Robinson was wanted on a marijuana possession charge after a search warrant executed at an apartment on the 900 block of Boston Way June 7th turned up a glass jar with about 4 grams of marijuana in a purse belonging to her.

Robinson now faces charges including possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and OWI first offense. Coupled with the marijuana possession warrant from June, she now faces a prison sentence of up to over eight years if convicted.
