A Coralville man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon after police contacted him regarding  harassment warning.

According to the arrest report, 50-year-old Mamu Fulgham of 21st Avenue Place was a suspect in a harassment investigation. When asked to provide ID regarding the warning, Fulgham reportedly shut and locked the door to his apartment.

After a short time, Fulgham reportedly opened the door, holding his waistband. He still did not identify himself to authorities, and was told multiple times to turn around and put his hands behind his back. After refusing, a struggle ensued to cuff Fulgham, and he reportedly had to be taken to the ground to comply.

During the struggle, an officer got a cut on one of his knuckles.

Fulgham was taken into custody and charged with Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by jail term of up to one year if convicted.
