Johnson County senators and representatives will be participating in a legislative forum tonight in Iowa City.
The Daily Iowan, who is hosting the event, reports that the participating legislators will discuss education issues ahead of next year’s legislative session in Des Moines. Also to be discussed are state appropriations, COVID 19 and vaccine policies.
The event starts at 7pm in the Iowa City Public Library. The public is invited to this free event, and masks will be required inside the library.
Eight Johnson County senators and representatives were invited to the event. Those that committed to attending as of Sunday were Senator Joe Bolkcom, Representative Christina Bohannon, Representative Mary Mascher, and representative Dave Jacoby.
The 2022 session will be the last for Bolkcom, Mascher and Bohannon. Bolkcom and Mascher have announced they won’t run for reelection, and Bohannon will be running for the first Congressional District in 2022.
