An active duty soldier from North Liberty was arrested Sunday night after an alleged domestic assault.

Police were called to the Burr Drive residence of 42-year-old David Baugh just after 7 pm on reports of a possible fight or domestic incident in progress. Upon arrival, loud arguing could reportedly be heard within the home.

The victim was contacted, and officers were informed that Burr and the woman had been arguing. The argument then allegedly turned physical when Burr threw food all over the woman and then grabbed her by the throat. He reportedly pushed her forcefully toward a wall and banged her head on the wall while choking her.

The woman reportedly said she was in so much fear that she urinated herself, which officers said was very apparent during their interview with her.

Burr allegedly contacted another soldier prior to the arrival of law enforcement and asked that soldier to pick him up before he killed the woman.

Burr was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Airflow, an Aggravated Misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.
