A Quad City-area man was arrested on public intoxication charges after allegedly dropping his pants at a downtown Iowa City bar Saturday night.
Police were called to the Airliner at approximately 11:40 pm on reports of a highly intoxicated man with his pants off. 61-year-old Kenneth Brill of Coal Valley Illinois was located outside and was identified by staff as the problematic patron.
Brill reportedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, unsteady balance, and had the odor of ingested alcohol. He allegedly was unable to tell officers where he was staying, and efforts to reach local family members were unsuccessful. Brill was offered a ride to the Guidelink Center to sober up, but refused to comply with pre-intake procedures and was taken to the Johnson County Jail.
Brill appeared in Johnson County court Monday, and Judge Christine Boyer fined him $105 after he pleaded guilty.
Augustana College in Rock Island Illinois indicates on their faculty and staff directory that Brill is Associate Dean and Director of the Office of Student Life and Leadership.
