Muscatine woman allegedly had nearly 2300 grams of cocaine in vehicle

A Muscatine woman was taken into custody on a warrant stemming from a March traffic stop that turned up thousands of dollars in cocaine.

Police stopped 37-year-old Joanna Davis of New Era Road in the 2700 block of 120th Street Northeast in Swisher the afternoon of March 30th. Investigators executed a search warrant on her Ford Explorer, and allegedly found 2295 grams of suspected cocaine, plastic packaging material, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia. The substance reportedly field tested for cocaine and was sent to the state lab for further verification.

The cocaine had a conservative street value of around $70,000.

A warrant was issued for Davis’ arrest on October 20th; she was taken into custody Thursday and charged with a Class B Controlled Substance Violation . Davis faces a prison term of up to 25 years if convicted.
