A Cedar Rapids woman faces a prison sentence after allegedly being found with bags of marijuana gummies during a traffic stop.

Police say the incident started just after Midnight Wednesday when 20-year-old Lamin Secka of Windy Meadow Lane Northeast was stopped for excessive speeding and driving on expired plates near the intersection of Burlington and Riverside Drive. The vehicle reportedly smelled of burnt marijuana, so officers conducted a probable cause search.

Four bags of marijuana edible gummies weighing over 42 grams were allegedly discovered in a bag Secka was carrying, and she reportedly claimed ownership of the items.

The woman faces marijuana possession and failure to affix drug tax stamp charges, and could be sentenced to up to 6 years in prison if convicted.
