The cities of Coraville and Iowa City have announced access to free COVID-19 testing kits at their City Halls.
Johnson County Public Health is supplying the kits to the cities, and will be available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in Iowa City, and 7:30am to 5 in Coralville. They’ll be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Coralville Public Library also has a pick up station which will be open on weekends during their posted hours.
Kits can also be picked up and dropped off at the Johnson County Public Health building on South Dubuque Street in Iowa City.
Patrons are being asked to wear masks at all locations when getting a kit.
The kits are saliva-based and come with instructions. Once the kit is completed, it can be dropped off at a UPS drop off location using a prepaid label, or directly to the State Hygienic Lab on Cross Park Road in Coralville. Test results are normally available via e-mail within 24 hours of the Lab getting the completed kit.
