The University of Iowa released its latest COVID-19 update earlier this week.
UI President Barbara Wilson posted the update to the school’s coronavirus web site on Thursday. In it, Wilson notes the seven-day rolling average of positive tests in Johnson County as of Tuesday was 39. That’s down from 50 the previous week, but up from 22 one year ago.
On the UI campus, the seven-day rolling average of self-reported positive tests, which is coordinated with Johnson County Public Health, was five as of Tuesday. That’s down slightly from seven one week ago and eight one year ago.
Wilson reports UI Health Care admissions are stable as they relate to COVID. 47 cases were reported as of Tuesday, with 44 reported one week ago. 85% are unvaccinated, and 88% are from outside Johnson County.
In weekly monitoring of wastewater for all UI residence halls, there was no evidence of COVID outbreaks to date.
Wilson also reports the delivery of over 40,000 KN95 masks for any faculty and students who would like them.
