A North Liberty man faces charges that he tried to suffocate his son, and that he injected what police describe as “unknown substances” into a sleeping victim.

37-year-old Tacoa Talley is currently being held in the Henry County Jail on separate domestic abuse and no-contact order violation charges.

On June 12th North Liberty Police received a report that Talley had been injecting a victim with unknown substances while they slept. Multiple witnesses reportedly told investigators that they saw Talley inject the person with substances that caused the victim to sleep for excessive amounts of time.

North Liberty Police also say that Talley’s son reported on July 13th that Talley had attempted to suffocate him.  Authorities say the allegations were confirmed, and there was additional mental trauma inflicted on the son due to the subsequent interviews with investigators.

All of the allegations against Talley allegedly occurred at his Prairie Ridge Road residence.

Talley is charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury and Administering Harmful Substances.  If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
