An over two-year-old case involving a Davenport man who stole a woman’s electronic devices and allegedly pawned or sold them has resulted in his arrest on Monday.

According to the original complaint, 32-year-old Jace Stratton was an invited guest at the woman’s South Linn Street apartment the evening of March 28th 2019. When the woman woke up that morning, she found Stratton gone and several items missing. They included her Iphone, laptop computer, two LG tablets and her wallet. She estimated the total value of the taken items to be approximately $1520.

That same day, Stratton allegedly pawned the Iphone at an EcoATM in Cedar Rapids. He reportedly presented his Iowa driver’s license to the machine, and the EcoATM captured a surveillance photo of Stratton.

Stratton also posted a picture of the woman’s LG tablet on his Facebook page listing the item for sale. A later post indicated that it had been sold.

Police interviewed Stratton on August 21st, where he allegedly admitted that he took the items from the woman’s residence.  A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Stratton was booked at the Johnson County Jail Monday evening. He’s been charged with 2nd Degree Theft, a Class D felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
