A Des Moines woman was taken into custody for her 2nd OWI and for endangering an infant child.

According to police, 26-year-old Amber Miller of Bel Aire Road was observed on Interstate 80 near Tiffin crossing the fog line several times and was pulled over for a traffic stop just before 11:30 Sunday night.

Upon contact, Miller reportedly smelled of ingested alcohol, had bloodshot watery eyes, and had poor balance. After performing poorly on field testing, she refused chemical testing.  A check of her driving status showed it as suspended through December 26th of this year.

There was an infant child in the vehicle with her.

Miller was arrested and charged with OWI second offense, driving while suspended, and Child Endangerment. If convicted on both counts, she could be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison.
