University of Iowa officials are reporting a pair of “forced fondlings” that occurred over the weekend.

According to the UI Department of Public Safety, school officials received the first report of forcible fondling, a form of sexual assault, that occurred late Friday night at a west side residence hall. The second forcible fondling was reported to have happened early Sunday morning at an eastside residence hall.

Both assaults were reportedly committed by acquaintances of the victims.

Based on the information provided, UI officials say the two incidents are separate and not related.

Anyone with information on either case is encouraged to call UI Police at (319) 335-5022.

The incidents are the third and fourth publicly-reported sexual assaults at UI residence halls since students were allowed to move back in on August 15th.
