A brief police chase on Highway 218 has led to the arrest of a Louisa County woman.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Jessica Slaton of Columbus Junction made an unsafe approach to an officer on a traffic stop on southbound Highway 218 just south of the Riverside Drive exit just before 4:30 Saturday afternoon. A deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop, but Slaton allegedly drove another six miles before stopping, ignoring the officer’s lights and siren.
Slaton was arrested and charged with Eluding. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.
