University of Iowa baseball alum Nick Allgeyer made his major league in-game debut Friday night.

Allgeyer was called up to the Toronto Blue Jays from Triple-A Buffalo earlier in the day. He pitched a perfect ninth inning in an 11-1 rout of first-place Tampa Bay.

Allgeyer has gone 3-2 with a 4.24 ERA in 40 1/3 innings pitched this season in Buffalo. He pitched for the Hawkeyes from 2015-2018, amassing a 7-4 career record with three saves and a 2.75 ERA. The 12th round pick in the 2018 MLB draft missed the 2017 Iowa season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Allgeyer had previously spent two games on the Blue Jays main roster in May, but didn’t see any in-game action.
