A North Liberty woman has been accused of breaking into an ex’s apartment and stealing a dog.

Police say the incident occurred at about 11 am Thursday at a 20th Avenue address in Coralville. 47-year-old Jamee Carson of Sadler Drive reportedly entered the residence through a closed window, took a dog and left the area.

Arrest reports indicate that the two individuals had just ended their relationship, and that Carson did not live at the apartment now or in the past.

The victim directed police to a location where Carson might be, and officers located the woman and the dog. The victim stated that Carson stole the dog out of spite.

Carson was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Burglary, a Class C Felony punishable by a maximum prison sentence of ten years if convicted.
