In a release from the IWP, it says that some alumni of the program from Burma have been jailed. One in particular, the poet Maung Yu Py, was jailed after participating in peaceful protests, beaten, and has been sentenced to two years of hard labor.
A petition is available with this article as well, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of all Burmese citizens jailed by the military.
