The anchor hotel in the Iowa River Landing will be changing hands this summer.
In a release from the City of Coralville, the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center will become the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel and Conference Center on August 18th.
The city-owned hotel has been operated by Marriott since its opening in 2006.
Marcus Hotels and Resorts of Milwaukee Wisconsin will assume management of the facility. City Administrator Kelly Hayworth says their experience in hospitality will be an asset to the city, adding that their focus on individual hotel properties and communities sets them apart.
With the new addition, Marcus Hotels will own and/or manage 19 hotels, resorts and other properties in the United States. Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s portfolio is closing in on 1000 hotel, all-inclusive and wellness resort properties in 69 countries.
