Former Lone Tree mayor Jon Green wins Johnson County Supervisors election, earning almost 2/3 of the total vote

Former Lone Tree mayor Jon Green has won Tuesday’s special election to fill an open seat on the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

Green, the Democratic candidate, earned 66.1% of the vote, which represents 9,718 out of the total 14,711 votes cast.

Runner-up Phil Hemmingway, the Republican candidate, earned 30.6% of the vote, while Brian Campbell, running as an independent, took 3.2%.

Green will fill the remaining time on the term of former supervisor Janelle Rettig, who announced her retirement earlier this year. Rettig’s term ends in December 2022.

Turnout for Tuesday’s special election was 16.64%
