Iowa City Police are investigating a shots fired incident on the city’s west side.
According to a Hawkalert sent out by the University of Iowa, officers responded to a shots fired call in the Westwinds Apartments area on Mormon Trek Boulevard just before 6:30 Friday night. One caller reporting hearing as many as ten shots fired.
The suspect fled the area northbound on Mormon Trek towards Coralville. An update issued just before 9pm says the investigation is continuing.
No other information has been released.
