UI Graduate College dean candidates to participate in open forums

The University of Iowa search committee for the new associate provost for graduate and professional education and dean of the Graduate College has selected three final candidates. The candidates will participate in open forums next week and meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership.

The names of each candidate will be announced the day before they are scheduled for an open forum.

Associate Provost and Dean John Keller, the longest-serving Graduate College dean in the Big Ten, announced March 4 he plans to step down on July 31. The Iowa Board of Regents later announced Keller will serve as interim president of the university beginning May 17.

The position of associate provost and dean of the Graduate College is filled internally, and is open to all tenured full professors at the UI.

Appointment of the next associate provost and dean is anticipated by July 1.
