Police apparently didn’t have trouble finding the woman who was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident Monday night…she left her license plate and the bumper it was attached to behind.

Police responded to the 600 block of South Van Buren Street on reports of a hit and run accident. According to witnesses, a car had hit another vehicle, hit a house, and then left the scene. The vehicle’s front bumper and license plate were located on site, and officers were able to track down 32-year-old Janetta Walker, who lived a few doors down.

Walker allegedly admitted to officers that she had been in an accident, had two vodka drinks and was drunk. A PBT showed Walker’s blood-alcohol level at .271 percent, over three times the legal limit. A subsequent Datamaster test showed her level at .238 percent.

Walker was taken into custody and charged with 1st offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
