A Des Moines man being seen at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics was arrested after threatening the staff.

46-year-old Jeffrey Curl of 38th Street was taken to the facility Saturday just before 9:30 pm due to his level of intoxication. He then allegedly became highly aggressive and attempted to assault the hospital staff. Curl reportedly stated several times that he was going to kill staff and officers on scene, and had to be detained.

Curl reportedly was uncooperative and officers could not get a post arrest PBT. He allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to drinking.

Curl has been charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and 1st Degree Harassment. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 26 months in jail.
